Background & History:
This aircraft was constructed by the Canadian Car & Foundry for the U.S. Air Force under terms of contract #33(600)520641. 200 AT-6J Trainers were produced under this contract in 1953 – 1954. Most of these aircraft were pre-assigned for service in NATO air forces under the U.S. Government Mutual Defence Aid Pact (MDAP). This Aircraft production article #89 remained in NATO service with the Italian Air Force until May 17¨ 1976 when it was returned to the U.S. Government inventory. The aircraft was placed on open bid and sold to Warbirds West inc. in May of 1981 and significant alterations were
completed in Sept 1995 with 337’s documenting all changes. This AT-6J is certified in standard category.
